THEME: Things that Go ‘Boo!’ in the Night

Prepare a five-minute story about something scary, uncanny, or unnerving. These prompts may help get you started:

In this spooky season, when the veil between worlds is thin, can you tell a story about a time when you were afraid–for good reason, or for no good reason? Consider kid fears: How real were the monsters that lived under your bed, or in your closet? What was your best Halloween costume, and what made it so great? Was there a haunted house in your neighborhood? (Did you steer clear of it, or dare to explore?) Consider your experiences of fear or other-worldliness as an adult: When has fear served you well? Have you ever encountered something that made you question what was true/possible? Did you ever have a visitor from ‘beyond’?

Prepare a story that is true, centered on one specific experience, and yours to tell. Then come to FBC’s Fall “Tell About It” Story Night to share it with a circle of friends, to listen to other stories, and deepen connections. You are welcome to come just to listen as well.
