Seasons of Wonder

In 2024, gather with a small group of FBC friends to make the ordinary sacred. Journey through the seasons of the year and the seasons of the church with invitations to explore, reflect, create, learn, discuss, pray, and feast. We’ll be using  Seasons of Wonder by Bonnie Smith Whitehouse, described by its publishers as “a 52-week interactive devotional that helps families and friends discover God enfleshed in the world.” The church will provide the books at no cost to you, as well as many of the project supplies.

Each month, FBC’s practice will include:
* Readings from the book
* A meeting with your small group
* A field trip or sharing feast
* A creation care challenge
* A project/making/crafting gathering

Small Group Meetings
Small groups will continue to meet monthly throughout 2024. If you’re
connected to a group but unsure of its next meeting time, or if you’d like to get
connected to a group, contact erika@fbcmac.org.

Field Trip: Durant at Red Ridge Farms, July 14, after worship
We’ll head to the beautiful lavender fields at Red Ridge Farms to see, sniff, and
learn about this resilient herb, wander the paths where it grows, and enjoy
expansive views and delicious lavender snacks. RSVP to Erika.

Makers Meeting: Collaborative Centerpieces – July 21, after worship
We’ll have some supplies on hand, but feel free to bring your own favorite
natural elements (sticks, leaves, shells, stones) to shape a centerpiece for your
home, and another for FBC’s altar table, that reminds you/us of the goodness,
beauty, and bounty of creation. Anne Engen will lead us. RSVP to Erika.

Creation Care Challenge: Eat Plant-Based
Animal agriculture places an immense burden on the environment. A plant-based diet is good for our health and for Earth’s, too. Find a local farmer’s market or vegetable stand. How many plant-based meals from local farms can you eat during the bountiful month of July?
