We’re offering a new class for all youth in 2021 called Dialogues on Sexuality (a curriculum by Spark House) in which we will discuss a wide range of topics, including:
-The Church and the Pervasive Problem of Patriarchy
-How Women Can Overcome Shame and Reclaim Ourselves
-Language, Identity, and the Power of Words
-What Does It Mean to Be Transgender?
-Creating an Authentically Affirming Community
-Building an Ethic of Sexual Wholeness
Each week there will be readings, discussion, videos, and the opportunity to reflect, share, and ask questions.
This is NOT a sex education class, but instead a time and space to have conversation about the complexities of sexuality and how it connects to our lives, our faith, and our world.
We will meet on Tuesday nights from 7-8:30pm beginning February 2 through March 9. We’ll meet in the Gathering Room at First Baptist Church, with social distance and masks required. We will also have a parents meeting on Zoom on January 19 at 7pm, to preview the class and answer any questions.
Please contact Sean Williams sean@fbcmac.org or Kate Satterstrom kates@fpc-mac.org if you have questions or need more info. If you’d like to participate, please register here.
