Celebrations Around!
The 150th Maintenance loan is paid off! A meeting was held with the Chief Credit Officer at First Federal bank. We mutually expressed appreciation, FBC to First Federal for granting the loan, and First Federal to FBC for our contributions to the McMinnville community and for paying the loan balance so quickly.
The Vision/Mission Team planned June Ice Cream Socials to provide congregational conversations around FBC’s important values. It was delicious!
If you did not participate, please contact – mvcleave@linfield.edu -or- joanncsims@gmail.com – so we can add your comments. Watch for July barbecues to explore additional questions surrounding the creation of a Vision/Mission statement that speaks to who we are and takes us into the future!
The Matthew 25 group is working with a couple over the next 30 days to assist them in making progress toward more stable housing. Folks without homes face extraordinary challenges. All involved in this quest can use your prayers to provide support and encouragement to this process.
FBC uses its space as an extension of our mission heart. A five-year lease was signed with A Family Place to continue the Relief Nursery program at FBC! Another potential lease possibility is being developed with an additional group. The Church Board is working on details of that plan. We are blessed with space to share with community programs, recovery groups, Free Medical Clinic, Scouts of America, community concerts, and McMinnville High School Baccalaureate, to name just a few!
The CB discussed the permanence of the Grace Space area in the Sanctuary. This new area began in December with the understanding it would be a trial time. Many comments were shared and ultimately the CB agreed by consensus that the Grace Space would continue as part of our Sanctuary.
The Church Board officially welcomed the FBC Climate Action Group to our family. Discussions will follow as to which Ministry Team the Climate Action Group will connect with as it does its important work. Welcome!
Our June Board members celebrated the approval of five new people as members to our FBC congregation! A special welcome and hand of friendship to Joani Jernstedt, Vicki Cartwright, Mark & Liz Bolden, and Emily Diesburg. We are excited you have joined our congregation!!
