About the Author
Win Dolan was born in Agawam, MA in 1909, the son of a Baptist minister. He grew up in Massachusetts, then went to school at Dennison University, Harvard, and the University of Oklahoma before moving to McMinnville in 1948. He taught mathematics and astronomy at Linfield for many years, where he was also Dean of Faculty and twice was interim president. He is well known for his many years of service to our church, where he retired from the choir a couple of years ago after singing for 56 years, completing 80 years of singing in a choir of some sort every year. McMinnville knows Win as a community servant for years of service for the Housing Authority, Boy Scouts, and library plus countless plays at the Gallery Theater. His children, Kathy and Ed live near Seattle; John lives in Amity. His 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren are scattered around the country.  As he says, “I’ve made it this far, I might as well go to 100!” Win Dolan passed into God’s love on March 14, 2009 at age 100 and 1 day.
