April Lenten Worship Highlights

April 7 – 5th Sunday of Lent – “Walking Toward What Is”
Luke 9:1-6, Guest preacher, Rev. Margaret Marcuson
Special Music from FBC Choir at 9 o’clock
Rev. Marcuson is a friend of FBC Mac, an author, a consultant & and coach, and a “leader of leaders.” She pastored the First Baptist Church of Gardner, Massachusetts for 13 years.

April 14 Palm Sunday – “Walking Toward the End”
John 13:1-15, Rev. Erika Marksbury preaching

HOLY WEEK – April 15-20 . . .

April 18 – Maundy Thursday, 6-7:30 pm – FBC;s second Dinner & Dialogue Event will be a Seder meal this night. We’ll share in this ritual tradition, learn the significance of each item on our plate, remember the Jewish story of liberation, and enter into the history that is so significant for our understanding of Jesus’ context.

April 9 – Good Friday, 7:00 pm – We’ll gather with other McMinnville congregations for an ecumenical worship service shaped around the Stations of the Cross. Service held at McMinnville Cooperative Ministries, 544 NE 2nd St.

April 21 Easter Sunday – “Walking Toward What Remains”
Luke 24:13-31, Rev. Erika Marksbury, preaching
Special Music from FBC Choir at 9 & 11 o’clock
10 am – EASTER BRUNCH in the Gathering Room

April 28 Y.A.H.O.O. Mexico Mission Sunday
The youth, college students, and adults from FBC who spent their Spring Break building homes for three families in Mexico will share their experiences during both services. Come to learn the songs they sang, see the pictures of their hard work and their fun, and hear the stories of this life-changing adventure!
